Analytics & Your Privacy
We measure how the teaching material is used. You do not need an account, and the analytics database does not store learner names, email addresses, IP addresses, device fingerprints, or typed answers.
Site traffic
With analytics enabled, we store a random browser identifier in first-party browser storage for 30 days, plus a visit key that resets after 30 minutes without activity. This lets us estimate distinct and returning browsers and paths through this site. These identifiers are pseudonymous, not a guarantee of anonymity, and are not used across other websites.
Traffic records contain known page paths, active time, coarse scroll depth, learning starts/completions, and clicks to Amazon, Apple, Google Play, or CorePendium. Referral information is reduced to common source labels or “Other referring site.” Full URLs, query strings, search terms, arbitrary campaign text, IP addresses, and user-agent strings are not saved. Recognizable bot user agents are inspected only to discard their requests.
Traffic records have a rolling 30-day retention period and are deleted on the next traffic write or report request. Expired browser identifiers are replaced on the next tracked page. Clearing browser storage also removes the identifier.
Learning activity
We count case/quiz opens, first answer interactions, questions covered, completion, and active completion time. Quiz answers are graded on the server and retained as aggregate correct/incorrect counts. Open-ended cases record answer reveals, not whether you were right. Question performance is not linked to the traffic browser identifier.
Separate random attempt keys prevent duplicate counting. They expire after about 48 hours and are removed on the next learning analytics request. Long-term learning records contain aggregate counts and duration totals. Quiz answer choices are processed for grading and are not retained as individual answer records.

How to interpret the counts
One person on different devices may count more than once; several people on a shared hospital computer may count as one browser. Blocked scripts, network interruptions, missing referrals, and bots affect estimates. Active time pauses when the page is hidden or idle; it does not prove that someone is reading or learning.
Dashboard access
The owner dashboard shows aggregate reports only and requires owner sign-in. Opening it excludes that browser from future analytics by default. Owner authentication is separate from learner tracking. Hosting providers still process ordinary requests under their own operational policies; this page describes the website’s added analytics.
